Following talks with Mayor Norma Redfearn and officers of North Tyneside Planning Department, a consortium of local community organisations is being formed to work together towards a management strategy for Tynemouth Village.

The first stage is a public consultation to gather comments, views and ideas from as wide a range of people as possible. Please play your part, and make it a truly community-led exercise, contributed to by all.

This is being facilitated by the North of England Civic Trust and has the active support of the following local organisations; Tynemouth Village Association, Tynemouth Business Forum, Tynemouth Licensees, Friends of Tynemouth Open Air Pool, Friends of Tynemouth Station, Kings Priory School, Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade, Friends of Northumberland Park and Tynemouth Holy Saviour Parish Church.

Over the next few months we have an opportunity to help make Tynemouth an even better place, by producing a Conservation Area Management Strategy, outlining what kind of improvements would add to the village’s character.

This is a community project, made up of the groups listed above and all who live in or loves Tynemouth.
